How do we create the 3D model of one of our products?

The 3D model of a product to be shown in the configurator is a polygonal file, of high graphical quality and possibly with a low number of polygons. It is important that the file be lightweight so that the performance of the configurator is not compromised. It is made by a 3D artist, typically using software applications such as Autodesk 3ds Max, Blender, Maya. The CAD file made by the engineer is used as a reference model so that the geometric proportions of the product are faithfully adhered to.

We already have the engineering 3D models, can they be used for the configurator?

3D engineering (CAD) models are vector models not suitable for a 3D configurator. They are detailed and large files that would weigh down the configurator, compromising its performance. However, the CAD file is a necessary starting point for creating the polygonal 3D model for the configurator.

Whose ownership of the 3D models shown on the configurator?

The ownership of the 3D models is with our customers. The 3D models of your products (whether boats, motorcycles, bikes...) will be used in the configurator but are a very useful resource for other applications as well.

Components purchased from outside suppliers, how is it possible to model them to show them in our configurator?

The easiest option is to ask your suppliers if they are willing to share CAD files of their products. Very frequently the supplier is interested in the possibility of their products being presented in a 3D configurator.
In the event that CAD files are not available, Missoun provides a 3D scanning service to digitize the affected products and then create the 3D polygonal models for the configurator.

Is it possible to hide prices in the configurator?

Yes. It is not obligatory to show prices on the configurator, you can decide for yourself whether to show them or not.

Is it possible to set up the configurator in different languages?

Yes. You can enable different languages and also add new languages by entering corresponding text translations. The translation can be applied both to the standard texts of the configurator and to the product data entered by the customer.

What language is set by default to show the configurator to the user?

The configurator is shown to the user in the language set for their browser application.

Can constraints be set between options to prevent certain combinations from being ordered?

Yes. It is possible to set even highly articulated rules in a fully configurative environment; there is no need to program code. The configuration of the rules is done by our customers independently.

Is it possible to temporarily disable an option in the configurator in case of lack of supply of one or more components?

Yes. It is possible to set eveYes. How does BOM resolution work? Do items have to be created in the Missoun platform or can they be imported?

Engineering articles for BOM definition and resolution can be imported from an Excel format file or via direct integration (via API) with your ERP application.

Can an e-commerce platform such as Shopify be integrated?

Yes, the Missoun platform natively integrates with several e-commerce platforms

How does Missoun's service delivery work? Do we need to contact you to change prices and configurations of our products?

The Missoun platform is a cloud-based application; our customers are completely autonomous in managing product configurations. Missoun's implementation project of the configurator includes a training session for the client company's team.

Do we have to contact Missoun to introduce a new product on the configurator?

No, our customers are autonomous in introducing and managing new products on the configurator.

Can your configurator also be used by our dealers?

Yes. The Missoun platform includes an area for dealers dedicated to B2B.We have customers who publish the configurator on their site for direct sales to consumers, while others use the configurator as an internal tool for the exclusive use of salespeople and dealers.

Is it possible to know which options are the most clicked by users?

Yes. The Missoun platform is natively integrated with both Microsoft Clarity and Meta Pixel. Integration with these applications provides access to very detailed information about the behavior of users accessing the configurator.

Is it possible to change the layout of the configurator?

Yes. It is possible to customize the layout of the configurator in a number of ways, such as setting colors, fonts and your company's logo. Those who want to recreate their own ad-hoc screen can access the configurator data via API.

Can the Missoun platform be adopted even in the absence of configurable products?

Yes. The Missoun platform is also adopted to create 3D product catalogs, considering the possibility of offering configurations later.
